at Ackurat
Jesper Fransson is a sports enthusiast and a parent of young children, with a special fondness for Sävsjö IBK, and a great interest in the furniture industry. After gaining experience in various parts of the industry, he has been working as a product developer at Ackurat since 2022, responsible for the company’s standard range.
Working at Ackurat
Jesper is a curious and versatile product developer who works on developing standard products that suit everyone in the European furniture industry. His work is varied as he interacts with product specialists, customers, toolmakers, and production. Through the product specialists who capture inspiration, feedback, and new ideas from customers, he gets the foundation for which products to develop to meet customers’ unique requirements.
During his time at Ackurat, he has learned a lot about injection moulding, environmentally friendly and sustainable materials, and has a good grasp of the furniture industry, even down to details like the most common pipe dimensions.
Passion for the furniture industry
Jesper chose to work at Ackurat to be able to work with the entire furniture industry. He finds it incredibly fun to visit furniture fairs and meet customers, where he gets inspiration and can follow the latest trends in the industry.
I sought out Ackurat because I was attracted to working with the entire furniture industry.
When there are furniture fairs, he takes the opportunity to visit customers, which is an excellent chance to get inspiration back. He recalls and laughs about a funny and unexpected event when his colleagues in stand were busy with visitors, and he had to take care of a school class.
Then the teacher points at me and tells the class - Here stands a real-life product developer! It was followed by impressed oohs and aahs, and I got to feel what it’s like to have star status.
Proud of his work
Jesper enjoys working at Ackurat very much, thanks to both his colleagues and the tasks. Following the products all the way to the finished design furniture also gives him great joy in his work.
Of course, you feel proud that what I develop will be used in future design furniture.
